# DoseDiary — Privacy Policy

DoseDiary ("the app") is a personal medication reminder, built to collect as little as possible.

## What stays on your device
By default, everything — your medications, schedules, dose history, and profiles — is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.

## Optional cloud backup (off by default)
If you create an account and turn on cloud backup, your medication data is **encrypted on your device** (AES‑GCM, using a passphrase only you know) **before** it is uploaded to our backend (Google Firebase). We cannot read it — the encryption is zero‑knowledge and we never receive your passphrase.

## Optional caregiver sharing (off by default)
If you turn on caregiver sharing, a summary of today's doses and missed‑dose status is shared only with the specific caregiver you invite via a one‑time code. You can enable "hide medication names" so only times and statuses are shared. Access is restricted to you and your linked caregiver.

## Account data
If you create an account, we store your email address and an authentication record through Google Firebase Authentication, solely so you can sign in and sync.

## What we do NOT do
- No ads.
- No third‑party advertising or analytics SDKs.
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
- No access to your contacts, location, or files — other than photos you explicitly attach to a medication or dose.

## Camera & photos
The camera is used only when you choose to attach a photo to a medication or dose. Photos are stored with your data (locally, and inside your encrypted backup if enabled).

## Children
DoseDiary is not directed to children under 13.

## Deleting your data
You can erase all local data anytime in Settings. To delete your cloud account and backup, contact us at the address below and we will remove your stored data.

## Not medical advice
DoseDiary helps you track and remember medications. It is **not medical advice** and does not check drug interactions. Always follow your doctor or pharmacist.
